Screen Technology Guide
Choosing the right screen technology is the single most important decision in an iPhone screen replacement. Here's what you need to know before you buy.
Uses a backlight behind an IPS panel. Colours are decent, brightness is moderate. No true black. The most affordable option — ideal for budget repairs or secondary devices.
Each pixel emits its own light — true blacks, vibrant colour, deeper contrast, slimmer panel. Soft OLED is flexible; Hard OLED is more rigid and durable. Closest third-party experience to original.
Original Apple panels pulled and refurbished. Preserves True Tone, full nit brightness, P3 wide colour, and Face/Touch ID integration. The gold standard — identical to factory.
iPhones from the iPhone X onwards shipped with OLED panels. Replacing them with LCD will permanently disable True Tone and reduce maximum brightness. If you own an iPhone X, XS, 11 Pro, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, or 17 series — always choose an OLED or OEM replacement.

DIY Repair Guide
With the right tools and patience, you can replace most iPhone screens yourself in under an hour.
Hold the power button and slide to power off. Never work on a live device.
Located on either side of the Lightning/USB-C port. Use a 5-point pentalobe driver.
Use a heat gun or iOpener to soften the adhesive seal around the screen.
Apply a suction cup near the bottom edge. Insert a thin pick and run it around the seal.
Before touching any cables, always disconnect the battery connector.
Move your Face ID, earpiece mesh, and front camera assembly to the new screen.
Power on with connectors attached but not sealed. Test touch, Face ID, cameras, and brightness.
Easier: iPhone 8, SE, XR, 11 — single-cable screen
Moderate: iPhone X, XS, 12, 13 — bracket transfers needed
Advanced: iPhone 14 Pro, 15, 16 — MicroSoldering or True Tone pairing may be required
